Mermaid Swamp: A First Impression

So the gist of the story is that you and your friends are traveling and end up having the car breakdown in the mountains.
An old man helps you out and lets you stay at his manor of a home. At first this is pretty awesome but the next day, the car is not shaping up any better and one of your friends is ill. That's not all.
The old man mentions he needs to leave for a few days and your character being a rash but kind person somewhat agrees to take care of the place until the car is ready to go.

This is just the beginning. For you and your friends now have to figure out the secret of a legend about the Mermaid Swamp.

From the creator of Paranoiac and The Crooked Man, Uri brings a new horror game using the Wolf RPG Editor that will have the players wondering what's going to happen next.

Warning: there is some vague nudity but not much to get your heart racing and nether regions warming up.

So being from the game style Realm of Mad Father and Misao, you can guess where this game is heading.
It's a horror visual novel with the prospect of somewhat entertaining puzzles. There is also multiple endings and the total is said to be around 4.

Like most games of this caliber, it starts off slow and steady to bring you into the story and the mythology of the games history that you will be exploring as you deal with the unknown.
Then that's when things change, for better or worse, you are pulled into the depths of the story where the water is never quite as clear as you hoped it would be.

The graphics are simple and pixelated. The sound effects are simple and right on key for what is needed. I like the mechanics the most due to such simplicity.

There is much to say about the game itself and it's story but I am not here to spoil it for you, may as well give the game a try.

I really enjoy the work and selection that VGPerson has, I will always recommend you go to them for games like Misao, Mermaid Swamp, etc.

Expect a few review once I finish the game, considering I have spent nearly a solid hour playing and typing up first impressions.
