First Impressions: The Men of Yoshiwara: Kikuya

From the realm of Visual Novels on mobile phones, this game has manage to surface from that realm and made a place on both Vita and Steam.

This game is aimed for romance lovers and the ladies.

Now lets begin the ramblings of this gamer and their first impressions.

The Men of Yoshiwara has a simple story, it revolves around an island where no men are born and a place where women can go to have their dreams achieved in a one night passion with courtesans who live in the Yoshiwara district.
In this case, we follow the main protagonist and her unique interactions and romances with several eligible Gentlemen of the Night.

The reasoning behind buying a game like this, for me, is simple. Steam has a plethora of VN based games that a centered around male protagonist and a harem of female suiters, so having a reverse is very pleasant and can really appeal to a more female audience, not that I am saying that females won't play as a male protag to a harem of luscious ladies, I am more pointing out that a variety helps.
Also, the game was on sale and I thought the art was nice and bought it from there.

The first impressions of this game was quickly made as the game has a strong and enticing story, pleasant art and  you are given choices on which endings may occur but it also has a lot of flaws, such as grammatical errors (which is expected), poor soundtrack and at times, it gets very awkward, like reading a poor fan fiction.
At first, the art was the sole reason I kept playing and then the realisation that despite the cringe inducing parts, the story is quite interesting, hence why it is a pro rather than a con.

Now, pointing out that there is multiple characters and each themselves have multiple endings allows this game to have a formidable replay value and since steam also supplies achievements for players, it gives more incentive to replay the game if one enjoys completing a game 100%. This fact has also become a reason why a full review cannot be undertaken at this point in time and will be concluded at a later time with a more extensive and more detailed look into this game.
