Real Horror Stories Ultimate Edition: A Review

Game: Real Horror Stories Ultimate Edition
Played on: Steam
Console: PC
Price: $1.99 [Steam]
Genre: Indie, Horror, Point and Click

Steam Synopsis:
Urban myths are stories that may or may not have been believed to be true. Unlike most, some are actually based on real events. One of them takes place in a haunted forest, near a cemetery, on the borders of a city, near you. Many consider this place dangerous late at night, because there are things happening that nobody know of or wants to know.

You think after reading a synopsis like that, it would be interesting, scary even but it somewhat lets you down within the first few minutes with the typical jump scares one would expect from a flash game someone made in their spare time.

The graphics appeal to the feeling of horror and so does the sound but the game play itself is slow and tedious as one constantly clicks at certain things until something happens and you can progress.

The story that is one thing that is vague, sure the beginning gives you something to work with but not much else after that.

As much as I'd hate to admit it, I couldn't even finish the game. You may be wondering why I would review a game I could barely finish, well, to give advice about this game. Buy it if you want a pointless game or steam cards cause apparently this game has them too. Also, buy it if it's basically going for free. It gives me the vibe of a cheaply done game made to make quick bucks off gamers who like jump scare filled games. Even then I would recommend Five Night's at Freddy's, even they have a more bountiful story line.

Score: 1 out of 5
